Hunt Construction Group Awarded Contract for Student-Athlete High Performance Center
Berkeley, California - The West Division of Hunt Construction Group has been selected as the construction manager for the Student-Athlete High Performance Center planned for development immediately west of California Memorial Stadium. Hunt's management and staff will immediately begin work on a host of preconstruction and planning tasks, such as estimating, constructability reviews and bid package preparations. Hunt specializes in sports facilities and has completed successful projects up and down the West Coast, including facilities for other Pacific-10 Conference institutions. "We are very excited to have the opportunity to provide preconstruction services for this unique facility," said Ray Zunino vice president with Hunt. "We are proud to be part of the project team tasked with delivering this exciting project." Most recently, Hunt oversaw the construction of the University of Phoenix Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals NFL franchise and host of the first ever BCS national championship game last January. Hunt was also the prime contractor for renovation at Autzen Stadium for the University of Oregon and has begun a second phase of stadium upgrades on the Oregon State campus at Reser Stadium. "We are pleased to have Hunt's expertise, enthusiasm and partnership on this important life-safety project for the campus and Athletics," said Assistant Athletic Director Bob Milano Jr. "We believe the team at Hunt is one of the top athletic facility contractors in the country, and their immediate engagement with preconstruction efforts will only improve the project's planning." In the San Francisco Bay area, Hunt was intimately involved in the development and construction of AT&T Park. Hunt's work is also showcased on the UC Berkeley campus with the 2003 completion of the "Crossroads" central dining and office building at the corner of Channing Way and Bowditch Street. Hunt's San Francisco-based regional office will oversee the day-to-day effort on the High Performance Center. |
