Hunt Construction Group along with owners of the JW Marriott Hotel, a growing presence on downtown Indianapolis’ skyline just west of the Statehouse, celebrated the building’s topping out on December 1, 2009. The 1005-room hotel will be the largest JW Marriott in the world when it opens in February 2011.

Standing 376 feet, the JW Marriott is the third tallest concrete frame structure in Indianapolis sitting on the largest concrete hotel foundation in the city’s history. Once completed the facility will feature 32 floors, 980 standard rooms, 25 suites, 55 meeting rooms and 104,000 square feet of total meeting space.

JWexteriorThe JW Marriott anchors a complex of four hotels known as the Marriott Place complex. Other hotels in the complex will open in February 2010. The complex is in the middle of some of the city’s most important attractions: across the street from the Indiana Convention Center, Victory Field, the Indiana State Museum and the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indian and Western Art. The JW Marriott Hotel will open less than one year before the 2012 Super Bowl in Lucas Oil Stadium (another Hunt built facility) just three blocks to the south.

Hunt Construction Group is proud to be working with White Lodging Services out of Merrillville to make Indianapolis home to the largest JW Marriott in the world. Once complete the facility will mark another landmark project for Hunt’s hometown.
